Robin Young

Robin Young is a self-taught piano player and songwriter. At the age of ten he started learning songs by ear such as Bon Jovi and Meatloaf. Over the years, his talent has got better and better. By playing with bands performing heavy rock, soft rock, covers, blues, folk, and as a pianist at dinner, his music has become very versatile! His excellent keyboard playing has helped pave the way for song writing, arranging, singing, drumming and producing.

influences include older musicians such as E.L.O., The Small Faces, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Van Morrison, and more recent bands such as Bon Jovi, Ocean Colour Scene, and the Stereophonics.

Robin has spent the past three years saving the money to build a small home studio with his older brother Paul. The songs “Here Comes Charlie”, “Saturday” and “Read Between the Lines” were all recorded in the living room at home!!

John Gardiner

John is a guitarist and producer who has been involved in computers, music and computer-music for almost two decades. This started at the age of 11 with a number of local, community arts projects. Many of these projects (in particular the Technodrome project – which saw Pinski Zoo drummer, Steve Harris, gather local students from the Banbury area to create a fusion of rock, hip-hop and dance with visual arts) were very diverse and encouraged John to experiment with different styles of music. John has been influenced by many bands and artists including: Pink Floyd, The Doors, Pantera, Senser, Rachid Taha, Steve Vai, Eat Static.

Having lost his will to be involved in the painstaking practice of live music over the past few years (or possibly because of tendencies towards laziness), he moved to concentrating on producing hip-hop, drum ‘n' bass and other forms of electronica.

However, when introduced to Robin and Paul through mutual friends (and realising that all three people shared a passion for much of the same music), a shift of emphasis and direction was to happen once more. This started when John offered to help record some guitar on the track “Saturday”; having enjoyed the experience of recording live music again so much, he has found it difficult to put the guitar down ever since!

Paul Swainson

Paul is a producer that has developed a wide range of technical abilities, at the young age of 9 he was at the birth of computers and the sound evolution. As home computers technically developed and so did the sound chips within them, many of the songs today have been created on descendants of these early technologies.

Paul's musical influences as a young lad began with the early “Electro Series” in the eighties, moving in to Bands like ELO, Pink Floyd & Motley Crue. Once he started college at the beginning of the nineties, a passion for underground dance music began at an era before a split of hardcore and break beat. This was the evolution for break beat Jungle & Drum & Bass, and many of our first tracks were actually based on these techniques.

With a love for music and little ability to play an instrument Paul teamed up with his younger brother Robin in 1995 to develop there own keyboard based songs on inexpensive home PC's. This development was pain staking and slow, they had no support provided by anyone professional and no manuals.

Many tracks and a few upgrades later Paul & Robin had the system they needed to record real instruments and vocals. On this site Paul has helped create and mould the tracks with input into arrangement, recording, instruments, mixing & mastering to name but a few.
